Shania {Senior 2010}

Shania is a sweetheart. She sought me out to take her senior pictures after seeing the pictures I took of her sister Charaia, who was a senior last year (see the sidebar 2008+July+Senior 2009). I had a fun time with this flute player from Air Academy. As we walked, we talked. We talked about the things she had planned for her future after high school, where she wanted to go, what she wanted to do, the shape she wanted her life to take. You see I love high school seniors. They are, in general, a funny species. They are young people that are at the beginning of "the rest of your life", and I love talking to them about what they are going to do with that life. Granted, half time they don't know, but hey it is always a good conversation starter. Anyway, Shania and I had fun walking around Old Colorado City looking for little nooks and crannies to post up in so that her pictures would come out great. I think we did a pretty good job...

Shania, you are beautiful, and your future is so bright. I pray that the Lord will follow you where ever you go, and your footsteps would be blessed. Have an awesome senior year!
Much love,

Tara + Erica Seniors 2010

Imagine having a permanent friend. One that was always there when you needed them. One that knew what you meant to say even if what you said wasn't really what you meant to say. Someone who has been there since birth. Wait, I mean before birth, since your beginning. (No, I am not talking about Jesus, although he is the friend that is like no other. We will save that PSA for another day.) :) I am talking about Tara and Erica. They are twins. I have known these girls since they were toddlers, and a couple of weeks ago I got to take their senior portraits. I will not say how old I was when I first met them, cause then that would give you a clue as to how old I am. Let's just say it has been at least 17 years, and now they are finally seniors. Their bond was amazing to watch. They look just alike, they laughed at each others private jokes, heck, if one of them trips the other one quickly trips so that her sister is not left alone. I love that! ( They actually demonstrated that benefit for me when I tripped on my sandal. One of them stumbled right behind me automatically! It was great, I need something like that all the time.)
Anywhoo, I had such an awesome time hanging with these two cuties. You can tell from their pictures alone that they have fun wherever they go. Even if no one else is around, these two will always have each other. Always.

Ok, so this is Tara...I think. ; )

And here is Erica... I hope. :)

I know the girls will forgive me if I got it wrong, but I am pretty sure I got it right.
Ladies, I had a blast. Thank you for letting me document this time in your lives. It was sheer joy.
Love,
Peace,
and Hairgrease

Mia 2009

I had a date a few weekends ago. Mia called and said she wanted to spend some time together. I checked my calendar, we set a date, and I waited in great anticipation. The time came, and then this lovely lady came through to woo my lens. I love shooting Mia. In 2008 I did her senior portraits, and she was beautiful then. This time she wanted to build a modeling portfolio, and she was absolutely stunning. So, that's what we did. Here are some pictures from her session...

I always say that you have to "model" it up in front of the camera in order to get the results you want. Even if you don't feel like a model, and you are really quite shy. Don't worry, I am shy too. But if you want your pictures to look like you are the stuff, then it's ok, act like you are a star, and I gaurantee your light will shine. Own it.
Anyway, Mia, I had a wonderful time together. Call me anytime! Good luck in modeling. God bless.
