Live and in Color

Ok so my famous video is finally up on the library's site. I have watched it and given it clearance for others to watch as well. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it, but after watching it for the gazillionth time I like. I really, really like it. So without further adieu....enjoy...

Sleepin with my Art

Oh man! So yeah, it's been a minute since I have written. Yes, I have been away from my blog, but never too far from my camera. I have actually been working on my art series. I am putting together some pictures that can be purchased for fine art, I am also selling note cards, and trying to get together some pieces for an up coming jazz and poetry event at my church. All this, while trying to raise my offspring to follow The Father. So to say that I have been busy is an understatement.

What I did want to mention though was that all of the pictures you see on this blog (as long as they don't have an identifiable person in them) are available for purchase. I will try and label them as art, with a quick link on the side, but sometimes I forget. Just contact me and we can discuss the details, sizing, pricing, format. Most of them can be printed pretty large, I can also do note cards, postcards and canvases. Just let me know what you would like.

Here are a few pieces I have been working on....

There are more pieces coming. I will most definitely keep you updated.

Sk8er Boi

So this is Keone. He is my cousin. He used to live in Hawaii and surf. Now he lives in Denver and skates. I took a trip to Denver last weekend (more on that to come) and I got to watch him work. It was cool.

I hope your weekend was as blessed as mine.

Much love

Da Shop

Sometimes I feel like I get so caught up in building my business that I forget what I started for in the first place. I want it all to be so perfect, and I want it all to be grand right now. Well, it's because of these feelings that I have decided to take on some personal projects.

I want to remember why I love photography. I want to tell stories with pictures. I want to invoke emotion with a single glance. I want some one to catch their breath after seeing what I see. So in order to do that I need to take a step back for a moment.

Da Shop is one of my personal projects that I began earlier this year. I love it when there is no pressure to hurry up and make sure everything is right, I just take my time and do what I do. These are from about a month ago when the family and I went to vist my husband at work.

I have other things that I am trying to do personally, so occasionally I will post some of those just to let you know what I am doing. Have a blessed day.

Everyday Art

Photography to me is about more than just taking pictures of people. I love taking pictures of everyday objects and giving the pictures as gifts. Not only does it give me practice when times are slow, but it is a way of relaxing for me. I don't have to talk to anyone, I can just get out the camera and be in my own little world. It's really quite nice.

Anyway, having said all that, I am exctied to share with you some of my still life, abstract, random everyday art. These are the things that make me happy...

Stay sweet
